How is suspense created in the film you watched in class ?

In the film Jaws suspense is created by the different use of shots and the impact of sound.
Fast camera shots created tension as the level of uncertainty is used here as we cannot adjust to what is happening. As an audience we are able to use our eyes to be drawn in to what is happening our attention followed the screen as the shot of the shark became closer. The music used here an established piece of music is used to create a forboding atmosphere. The music used here keeps the audience drawn as the slow tempo follows the same pace as the shark gliding in the water putting the audiences main focus on the shark. You don't want your attention to leave as you don't want to miss the final outcome. The crescendo built is built on slow pace of slow camera shots integrated with the slow forboding music .
